Seismic performance of moment frames under multiple fling-step pulse ground motions

چکیده

The displacement fling-step pulse seldom signatures near-field earthquake in its ground motions. It is well recognized that the motion with velocity amplifies building drift larger than regular motion. Recent findings explain experiences minor damage to collapse not caused only by single earthquakes, which many cases are due repeated seismic performance of moment frames under studied, particularly when this type applies. Thousands nonlinear inelastic response history analyses conducted order find out inter-story drifts, as engineering demand parameter throughout incremental dynamic analysis, on 5 20-story resisting influence multiple motions a pulse. special, intermediate, and ordinary types considered, respectively. On average, evaluation result explains intensity measure needs 68.37% lower produce near drift. This means fling step increases probability significantly.
